Who we are and where we are

Southampton Film Theatre is a company limited by guarantee incoporated in 1978 in England 1383708 with Memorandum and Articles of Association and also a Charity Commission registered charity 276825. We are commonly known as 'The Phoenix'. Members support the charity's formal objectives through their membership subscription.

Our last Annual General Meeting was on 2nd November 2011 where Phoenix Council presented its Annual Report 2010/11.

We have a short history of how we got to where we are now since our founding in 1931. There is a catalogue (200k pdf) of all the films we have shown in Seasons 1999-2011 with their audience reaction figures.

We operate in association with Union Films at Southampton University Students Union, who provide the facilities and projection services.
